Star Trek has been back on television (and mobile, and computer, etc.) for a few weeks now. Chase Raz hails friend, co-worker, and former student Garret Albritton to engage the Klingons and discuss what it means for Star Trek to be back. The biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own; meaning that the cultural influences and technical production elements of the new series are explored, even where no one has gone before. Some spoilers are to be expected.

Chase Raz has been feeling quite a bit of apathy towards consumer technology recently, and he believes that he's not alone. Not only do others seem to be "tapping out" of tech because of the continually elevating price tags, but tech companies themselves seem to be retrenching from their wide-reaching ecosystems and into a few key competencies... or at least cutting out what they are so competent at doing or making. Chris Ayers, on the other hand, feels find about technology and has no problem supporting multiple devices, platforms, and ecosystems to get whatever content he wants, whenever he wants it.
